my pump is a jacuzzi and it just stopped pumping. It is only 5 years old I primed the pump by filling it all the way up and it still won't pump. We have been having a lot of power outages lately and I think the starter switch got messed up. The pump wants to come on but just can't do it. My problem is I can't find any information on the pump, its like it doesn't exist. I need to know where I could get a new starter switch. I am a 61 year old woman who is completely in the dark about water pumps

Jacuzzi was bought out not long ago. I know, who wasn't these days?

When you say a starter, what exactly are you referring to? If it's a jet pump, it will have a pressure switch for sure and likely a start capacitor and start points in the motor. If it's buzzes when you put power to it, it's not the pressure switch. If it's silent when you put power to it and the thermal overload is not tripped, then it could be the pressure switch. There is also a centrifugal switch in the motor but we'll save that for last.
