If you have an application where you want to pull water from
a Lake or Stream; have a need for lots of water, pressure
or both. This is the way to go. The metal cage with the submersible
pump inside slides easily into a nylon mesh bag, similar to
the screen you see on home windows, and keeps out leaves,
minnows, sticks and other debris often found in bodies of
water. I can put practically any submersible pump from 1/2hp
up to 5hp into the Lake Strainer. The amount of water that
can be expected in these horsepowers, ranges from 15 to 90
gallons per minute. The cost for the Lake Strainer and the
labor to install the pump inside is $210.00. The pump can
be removed from the Lake Strainer if needed and the mesh bags
can be cleaned or replaced for a minimal amount.
Jet and Centrifugal pumps just can't move as much water and
pressure as a submersible. If you are moving water up a hill,
Jet pumps and Centrifugals just won't get the job done like
a Submersible.
The unit can be hooked up just like any other
sprinkler system. Either to a sprinkler timer with or without
a pump start relay. And/or to a pressure tank and pressure
switch.
This is the top view of the Lake Strainer where
water is discharged. The grey colored fitting is a 1/2"
conduit connector for the wire from the Pump.
This is the bottom view of the Lake Strainer. The Stainless
circle in the middle is the bottom of the Submersible Pump
Motor. This and the top discharge is what keeps the Submersible
Pump centered in the Lake Strainer.
