There are several devices that can protect your pump
and motor. If you have a low yield well with a submersible
pump you can use Franklin Pumptec and Pumptec Plus.
You would use the Cycle
Sensor if using a Constant Pressure device such as the
Cycle Stop Valve as the Pumptec will not work with a Constant
Pressure device.
The Pumptec is an electronic device that will sense
low amperage when a pump runs out of water or the pump has
worn parts ,broken shaft etc. The low amp conditions will
then shut the motor off for an adjustable amount of time.
There is also the Overheat Protection device.
This little unit monitors the temperature of your pump casting.
If the temperature gets up to 120°, it will turn off the
motor until it cools to 110°. This can save the pumps
internal parts as well as all the plastic fittings.
The Hot Stop Thermostat is also available. It turns
off the pump at 110° and back on again at 90°.
